Alfalfa Fines
Alfalfa Fines
are crumbled Alfalfa Cubes in 50 lb (22.7 kg) bags for
convenient storage and handling. The smaller texture
and size, compared to our Cubes or long hay, allows the
Fines to be easily spread on or mixed with other feed,
giving flexibility in feeding.
 |
For
Horses and Livestock: An ideal processed forage
solution for older animals, or animals with poor
teeth, the crumbled texture of the fines makes them
highly palatable and easily digestible.
Alfalfa
Fines are also an ideal way to include processed
forage in the diets of smaller animals. |

For
Gardens: Alfalfa Fines also make an excellent
soil conditioner for gardeners, providing organic
matter and nutrients for composting. Alfalfa Fines
are prized for bringing out the blooms in
roses.
Our
Alfalfa Fines also have the benefit of being
weed-free and chemical-free, incorporating the same
hay as our Alfalfa Cubes. Alfalfa Fines can be
hand-mixed or tilled into the soil, or added to
compost to produce a soft, rich soil. Alfalfa
Fines have an NPK of approximately 2.5-1-3. |
Feeding Instructions:
Introduce feed changes gradually over 7 to 10 days.
Ground level feeding recommended. Feed at least twice daily.
For animals who bolt their feed or are experiencing teeth problems, we suggest soaking this product. Supply clean, fresh water at all times.
This product can be fed as the sole source of fibre, or fed in combination with hay at the rate of 1.0% of body weight.
(i.e. 10 lbs for a 1000 lb animal)
The maximum amount of Alfalfa Cubes depends on the individual animal, desired body condition, level of activity and developmental stage.
A 2-gallon container can hold approx. 5 lbs (2.25kg) of hay cubes. A flake of hay will weigh about 4 lbs (2 kg), with about 1 lb (0.5 kg) lost in feeding.
